Who We Are

Wellness for Warriors recognizes the service of officers lost to suicide. We are here to remind officers and their families that they are not alone.

Help is available. Recovery is possible.

Suicide Stats

Wellness for Warriors was cofounded by Meghan Kelley, a Yoga & Meditation Instructor in Boston, MA, along with LEO/Clinician Jeanna Marie Saccoccio, NYS LCSW. Having experienced 9/11, the Boston Marathon Bombing and a tragic fire that claimed the lives of two Boston Back Bay Firefighters, Meghan has dedicated herself and her studio practice to teaching the benefits that yoga and meditation can offer to First Responders. Jeanna has a Masters in Forensic Psychology and extensive experience working with trauma victims in acute care and long term residential facilities. She is currently the youth officer and mental health officer in her department.

Wellness for Warriors is aware of the stigma attached to mental health in the First Responder field, as well as the rising rate of First Responder suicides due to the stigma that prevents them from seeking the help they need. It is our goal to provide a safe, confidential space for those struggling, as well as the support, care and tools they need to cope with the stress of the job.

We exist in remembrance of a fallen hero.

Eme Nimtz is our Director of Spousal and Familial Peer Support, and widow of Deputy Benjamin Nimtz.

Eme’s husband lost his life in the line of duty in 2019. Benjamin Nimtz dedicated his life to public service as a law enforcement officer and was a veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Wellness for Warriors is blessed to have Eme on our team. It is our wish to honor and celebrate Benjamin in our work with first responders.
